WORLD LAND TRUST
World Land Trust (WLT) is an international conservation charity that protects the world’s most biologically significant and threatened habitats acre by acre.
Through a network of partner organisations around the world, WLT funds the creation of reserves and provides permanent protection for habitats and wildlife. Partnerships are developed with established and highly respected local organisations who engage support and commitment among the local community.
To date, WLT has been instrumental in the purchase and protection of more than 540,000 acres of habitat in Africa, Asia, Central and South America and the UK to create reserves, and give permanent protection to habitats and wildlife.
“I am under no illusion about how difficult this is.”
Sir David Attenborough

Sir David has supported World Land Trust (WLT) since it was founded in 1989; one of the founders being John Burton (WLT’s CEO). John’s creative and innovative approach to raising funds to save rainforests and other important wildlife habitats was one of the main reasons that Sir David became WLT’s official Patron in 2003 and he has been supportive of the aims and objectives of the Trust ever since.
